At any rate, my brain is like jelly today and I have no idea what else to say about this without giving away too much.
In other news, I'm going to be picking up a standalone novel that I started a few years ago. This will probably piss off Jenny fans ( yes, I GET IT. You want book two. But please stop calling my house in the middle of the night and heavy-breathing. It's CREEPY.), but I really wanted to work on something for a little bit that was not series-related. I don't know if this book will go anywhere, but it's super fun to work on. Vampires, science, rebels, creepy hospitals with lots of secrets, seedy underworld crime bosses, wayward reporters, and trees that breathe and bleed black petals. Hopefully I can get it all to work. If not, it'll be a great writing exercise to get me in shape for the next Jenny (Jenny Alive, if anyone cares).
I have nothing else to say. My house is much less disarrayed than usual at this point, thanks to my kids being old enough to do chores and the wonderful addition of a dishwasher. So I'm just going try to decompress today before starting on revisions. (I am NOT going to work, I am NOT going to work)
The Devil's Backbone should be available for purchase in a few weeks if all goes well. Thanks for sticking with me through the series. Our Niki has come a long way and it's time to let her find her own way now. I'm not crying, I have allergies.
